April 8th: Solar Eclipse
Across all North America, a partial solar eclipse will be visible, while areas from Texas to Maine will experience a total solar eclipse. A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon moves in front of the Sun and blocks all or a portion of the sun’s rays to Earth. The path of totality in 2024 will traverse the United States from the Southwest to the Northeast in a comparatively narrow ribbon that is about 70 miles wide. Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine are among the states that are on the road of totality.
