This event will take place on February 29th, 2024 at 6pm PST at George Fox University's Canyon Commons in Newberg, Oregon.
Moderating this panel discussion will be Miles Dean, Director & Head Coach of E-sports at GFU. Miles decided to host this panel due to the increased rate of women in the E-sports industry as of late, to inspire more women to not only join the intercollegiate program but also pave the way for others to work in STEM fields.
STEM From's Founder and CEO, Dr. Carina Minardi, has been invited to join in on the Panel Discussion! Her aim is to provide guidance on navigating obstacles and complexities of STEM career journeys for a wide range of individuals, regardless of age, race, gender, etc. Whether the career is in research, academia, technology, or more, Dr. Minardi is determined to give life-changing advice to whoever needs it (regardless of whether they identify as women or not)! At this panel discussion she will be introducing these aforementioned topics and more!
Besides our founder Dr. Minardi, there will be two other leading panelists during the event: Lainie Mataras, who is the Senior Director Consultant for Architect Design at Planar, and Danielle Cantrell, the Gaming Technology Marketing Specialist at Intel. The three will tackle juggling a work-life balance, networking tips, the benefits of mentorship, and working in the face of misogyny in a man-dominated industry.
