Pride In STEM
Pride in STEM Day celebrates LGBTQ+ people working and studying in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The day recognizes the contributions of LGBTQ+ researchers, engineers, healthcare professionals, educators, and innovators while promoting inclusion and belonging within the STEM community. It also encourages students to see that diverse perspectives strengthen scientific discovery, creativity, and innovation.
How it Started…
Pride in STEM Day is organized by Pride in STEM, a UK-based charitable organization founded in 2016. The organization works to increase the visibility of LGBTQ+ people in STEM, provide networking and mentorship opportunities, and promote inclusive environments where everyone can thrive. Through annual events and outreach, Pride in STEM highlights the achievements of LGBTQ+ STEM professionals and encourages future generations to pursue STEM careers.
