September marks National Library Card Sign-Up Month! If you don’t have a library card yet, I’m here to convince you why it’s an excellent idea to get one! If you haven’t already, I would suggest reading a previous article of mine where I discuss the importance of libraries on a broader scale. For now, though, let’s focus on library cards!

Why Should I Get A Library Card?

  • Frequent sign-ups show greater public demand for libraries, helping keep them funded.
  • You gain access to the library’s physical and online catalogue, allowing you to check out movies, books, CDs, and more.
  • Library cards typically let you use library computers for longer periods of time.
  • They show your support for libraries.

How Can I Get One?

You can acquire a library card by visiting your local library. While some libraries allow you to start the application for one online, you’ll need to pick it up in person. Usually, all you need document-wise is your official government I.D. and/or proof of residence.

When?

As soon as you can! Libraries need all the help they can get!

Celebrate National Library Card Sign-Up Month by getting your library card today! Stay tuned for more blogs coming soon!
