Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day

February 2nd marks Rheumatoid Arthritis Awareness Day. Today, we at STEM From are going to discuss this observance.

What is Rheuematoid Arthirits?

Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune condition that involves chronic inflammation of joints. It can cause stiffness, pain, reduced joint function, and swelling. These symptoms can effect the entire body, leading to challenges in everyday function.

Who started this observance?

This observance was coined and created by the Rheumatoid Patient Foundation in 2013. Their goal was to shed light on RA, and its effect on the people who have it. It also aims to debunk myths regarding the condition. While RPF is no longer active, the observance lives on in the RA community.
