Today is World UFO Day! Whether you believe in extraterrestrials or just enjoy looking up at the sky pondering what life is beyond our planet, this occasion is a great excuse to look up at the stars!
UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object, but it can also stand for unidentified aerial phenomena or unidentified anomalous phenomena. A UFO is an object or event visible in the sky that cannot be identified or explained. The term originated from the United States Air Force finding difficulty classifying strange shapes or phenomena into one category.
World UFO Day, by extension, is exactly what it sounds like. Believers and non-believers of aliens alike take this observance to put their gaze to the heavens. While the validity of this phenomena is hotly debated, its mystery and intrigue are undeniable.
