Welcome back to STEM From’s movie review series, a segment where I give thoughts on my favorite STEM-oriented or themed movies. Today, I’ll be talking about one of the movies from my childhood: Robots.
Robots takes place in a mechanical world of robots with the protagonist as the inventor son of a dishwashing dad in a low-income household. He starts his dreams young, and soon they take him into the big city called “Robot City!” This young inventor has a hope and a goal. But along the way, he realizes that things in Robot City aren’t as grand as they pretend to be.
This movie discusses topics of capitalism and consumerism’s effects on those trying to establish themselves in the world of STEM. It’s an amazing ninety-minute movie with a powerful message, humorous cast, and plenty of hidden jokes to entertain the viewer!
If you’ve seen Robots, let me know what you think of it in the comments! Stay tuned for the next movie review!
